FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Below I have combined a few of the more frequently asked questions from my clients to help you better understand what I offer, what I deliver and what I do not do.

Every photographer and mental health professional has different approaches, these simple questions will help you better understand mine!

booking details

How far do you book out?

I prefer you book your session no more than 3 months in advance. Though it may seem smart to get ahead of the rush and book earlier for spring/summer/fall time it's best to do it within the 2-3 weeks range because it will keep our correspondence fresh in your inbox and help you stay focused on your session!

What is your pricing structure?

All my bookings come with a one time, non-refundable retainer fee of $275.00 that is part of the total session price. This fee covers our initial correspondence in email, phone or video chat to get to know each other as well as my energies to get our session on the calendar.

After that the session payments are split into 2 payments. First 50% is required 1 week prior to the session date and the final 50% is due on the day of the session.

Can we reschedule?

Absolutely! If for any reason you are needing to reschedule your session to a later date be it an emergency or inclement weather, please contact me at least 24 hours prior to the session time and request a new date. Your deposit will be honored and carried over.

Do you only provide the Awakening Experience Sessions?

Yes! My main offer to you will always be my Personal and Senior Awakening Experience Sessions that are a combination sit down 1-on-1 and photoshoot session.

I do offer the Personal Awakening "1-on-1 Solo Conversation Sessions" on their own over the phone, video or in person without the photoshoot.

Additionally I offer Commercial & Personal Headshot Portrait Sessions at a-la-carte hourly fee. Please email to enquire.

Does the session have a time limit?

The Personal Awakening Sessions usually last two full hours. The sit down 1-on-1 conversation session is a full hour prior to the photoshoot that usually lasts exactly 1 hour.

If we go over the time limit or if you have additional topics to discuss during our 1-on-1, there will be an additional 1 hour fee added to the total due.

Session details

Is Makeup included?

Makeup and Hair services are not part of the awakening sessions because I want my clients to feel their best in their own skin be that without makeup or with minimal makeup done at home.

If you wish to book makeup and hair on your own prior to the shoot, you are more than welcome to do that!

Who can come to the shoot?

It is best to only bring 1 to 2 people to your photoshoot.

The 1-on-1 conversation part of the session which comes first before we take any photos I ask you come to by yourself. This is a very personalized, private space held only for you so you can feel the most open and at ease.

However, when we move into the photoshoot you are welcome to bring your parent(s) or a best friend to support you during your session!

What should I wear?

Clothing is always going to be up to you! I do however have a small request that you try to stick to a neutral palette with minimal patterns/colors so our images can look as light and airy as possible!

Can I bring my pet?

Absolutely! You are always welcome to bring a pet of any kind (probably not a fish!) to your photoshoot.

I do ask that someone come with you so to take care of them while we shoot!

Where can we shoot?

All Awakening Sessions are usually booked for an outdoor location such as a park, natural field or rural location that will provide us with light and airy atmosphere.

I like to shoot wide open (for that smooth, beautiful and blurry background!) so an open space with plenty of natural light, trees and foliage as well as fields or grass or flowers is always best!

If you like a more urban approach, I simply ask that the location is as neutral and "un-cluttered" as possible so we don't have too many distracting colors or shapes in the background.

Deliverables

Are digitals included?

All digital copies and print products are purchased separate after the session.

Small, ready to share online images ARE included with all sessions.

Please note: These small, ready to share images cannot be printed. If you wish to make prints of any kind, you will need to purchase the digital copy in High Resolution Format after your session.

How are the images delivered?

All sessions come with a private, fully customized and password protected client gallery that will include all your final images. The gallery stays online for 1 month (30 days) after your session so you have ample time to download all your images!

Full gallery and Single photo downloads are available with each gallery. They will save as a small resolution, watermarked image that will be ready to share online.

How many photos can we expect?

The Personal Awakening sessions include 25 fully retouched images.

Do you offer print services?

Yes! All sessions that come with a private gallery also come fully loaded with a print-ordering site that will help you pick out the very best print products straight from your online gallery!

I use one of the nations leading printing companies - Pro DPI (California based) to print all my products. The printing site will include image examples of the product, size & cropping variations as well as additional paper finishes, delivery & secure payment information!

Please note: There is an order minimum of $250.00 for all printing products ordered via your private gallery.

Other Information

What is your "style"?

My work can best be described as "medium-format, film inspired portraits."

Though I shoot primarily digital, my retouching style resembles that light and airy medium-format film tone and pastel color palette that you are more likely to see in modern bridal and wedding portraits.

Do you retouch the photos?

Yes! All final images will come fully retouched. My process is simple and natural, I only retouch the color balance, tone, sharpness/noise and any blemishes/hairs that would be too distracting in a printed photograph.

I do not go overboard with skin editing so please keep in mind, your pores and wrinkles will still be there. You will look like yourself but on your very best day!

What equipment do you use?

Currently I shoot all my portrait sessions with my Canon 6D DSLR camera and prime lenses.
My favorite go to lens is always my 85mm 1.2L and 50mm 1.4

I also use my 28-70mm 2.8 for wider angle shots, fashion editorial portraits and landscapes!

What editing software do you use?

I use a combination of PS LR and PS CC to retouch all my images. Primarily I use LR to cull, organize and sort through the session. Then I will correct all necessary things right in LR and carry the final imports to CC to fix any additional skin or hair imperfections.
